I used to build dry stone walls for farmers so I was around them a lot. They're very clever and have lots of little things they do that make potentially hard jobs easier.

When I was a child, milking cows by hand, we used a pair of "kickers" on the hind legs instead of rope. They were mfg. for that use. Also the milk stool was just 2 short 2x4 boards nailed together
