Goodwill sucks for thrifting and has for years.

20$ FOR A PLASTIC CHAIR IS DIABOLICAL

Back in the old days I use to buy clothes from Good Will and they would put colored stickers on items and have 50% of blue days, red days..etc. I could buy a good pair of shorts for 10 cents.

They get it for free and then charge people who can’t afford it for $50! So wrong!

i was done when they created their own auction site, and stopped putting anything good out of the floor ppl donate so others nearby can get the items at a low price. but now they auction if off, and locals never see it shoes, clothes, electronics, all good stuff

My friend & his wife started their own thrift shop to combat this and it’s doing wonders for our local community It’s called California Thrift if you’re ever in Visalia, CA check em out

Remember when they found out that the board members were doing goodwill business with their own personal business (one guy had a toy company, goodwill would buy and resale toys- another guy owned gas, Goodwill would exclusively buy gas from that company)

Goodwill is a scam!!! we stopped buying & givin stuff to the man years ago

Haven't bought anything there in years. Go in once in awhile, end up shaking my head and leaving.

New and unused btw

This is why I refuse to give anything to Goodwill and chose to give away my stuff personally. Would rather put a free sign by the street and let people pick from it.

Goodwill was selling a book I wanted for $70.... SEVENTY FUCKING DOLLARS

I use to price books for a thrift store. They always made us up stuff since our store was not making sales😩 it’s definitely cause of market changes, inflation. It sucks

Unfortunately a lot of charity stores are no longer about charity but for profit. It's really sad.

Lmfao that orange and black plastic lamp we bought for 30 bucks at Home Depot years ago. this is ridiculous

Goodwill has gotten so greedy over the years. I stopped shopping there a decade ago when a used tank top I was going to buy was unraveling, I peeked at the price tag and it was the same price as a new tank top at Gap Outlet or Rainbows.

the people that run goodwill need more money to stick in their pockets. they are making millions off of donated free items. Most of the money doesn't even go to the needy

They have gone up. My recent experience things went up 100-200 percent

Goodwill in my area was seen digging through curbside trash during operation cleanup. Taking furniture and clothes that people tossed to trash to sell at goodwill. Furniture and broken electronics were collected right in front of my home.

I know someone that works at Goodwill and prices the items... She literally just makes up the prices as she sorts through the items based on a colored coded chart.

At least the Salvation Army doesn’t pay their CEO’s a huge salary like Goodwill AND they actually do good work. Salvation Army has one of THE BEST Drug Rehabs out there for Free. My son went to one and it saved his life. He’s 16yrs sober. So many stories like that from hard core drug addicts who were blessed enough to go to Salvation Army Rehab. I’m indebted to them for life. Salvation Army saved my son when no one else could.

i watched a whole video on this recently it’s nationwide

Goodwill is out of its mind. Recently went to my local GoodWill and used tshirts was 7 bucks! Walmart sells new tshirts for 7 bucks. wtf.

Goodwill has gotten insane lately. I see a lot of $1 Dollar Tree items marked up to $4-$5 or more. It’s insane. They’re a for-profit business under the guise of a charity.

the goodwill in my area, is doing this, and guess what, because they dont sell and stock donations quicker, they throw a BUNCH OF stuff out. yeap, you called it, we have a bunch of dumpster divers. and i dont blame them, they throw a bunch of good shit, especially for kids 🤦♂️

Goodwill is a money laundering operation at this point.

You can go to Goodwill, not touch anything, and still come out feeling sticky.

As someone who used to work at Goodwill pre-pandemic, the stores started to look at their inventory and start raising prices on certain items that they felt were worth more than the prices they used to charge for them.

Goodwill is not goodwill. Private company.

I have to give at least part of the blame to the idiots that make videos where they are like “wow, whoever priced this at goodwill, thank you.” And then they will show the nice profit they made on it, reselling it. So now goodwill just Googles most things before they price it. My favorite is the EMPTY glass from a used candle that they will put $6.99 on.

People need to stop donating their crap to Goodwill. Find local Thrift stores to give your shit to.

Goodwill has been trash for a while

@HillcrestCardCo $6 for an almost empty box with a couple of used scraps of modeling clay. Were cooked.

Dumb people have been making videos of themselves finding deals at Good Wills then reselling them online for a profit. Good will is pricing out the people it was built to serve trying to snatch profits from online sellers. Everywhere you look its greed today.

Yes I have posted many times about this and my posts are shadowbanned on that other social media platform. GW is about to move everything online since they make more money with their pwn eBay store. They basically rob the other stores by collecting the good stuff.
