Should be pointed out that the reason why you only ever see Sudanese diaspora on TV or at conferences who either actively whitewash or ignore the UAE’s central role in Sudan’s suffering is because those are the only voices that are allowed to be platformed; with those who deviate from the chosen narrative getting almost immediately De platformed. Take Alaa Salah for example hailed as the icon of the Sudanese revolution, being quickly de platformed the moment she deviated from the script and started actively speaking out against the UAE and challenging the false equivalence narrative that shields their proxy RSF militia. The Sudanese diaspora members that are repeatedly platformed to speak on Sudan understand the bargain well they aren’t there to educate or give a Sudanese perspective they are positioned to provide crediblity to the collective (currently destructive) Western policy on Sudan. What they say will only change once those who have platformed them deem it so.
