He is 8 years old, turning 9 soon. Unschooling (homeschooling) is a very very wide subject for me to talk about. For me- it’s NOT about ‘education’, it’s a way of life. But we have evolved in this journey as a family. Lot of our fears come up and we keep working with it. What is his schedule? Well, he designs his schedule. We, as a family, discuss and try to build something that works for all of us. What is his curriculum? Everything that interests him is his curriculum. Who teaches him? To be honest till last year we didn’t need anyone. Basic stuff in life, every real life experience was teaching him. But now as he has grown, he has specific and detailed interests- so if any one of us knows, then we otherwise we find someone who is passionate about his interest areas. If no one is teaching him, there is no curriculum and he doesn’t have a ‘fixed’ schedule - then how does he learn? What is the role of a parent in his life? Well, that’s a valid question. Our role is to facilitate his journey. Bring reflection to him so that he thinks for himself. Bring exposure so that he chooses. Have conflict with him as we can’t be aligned with him in every way and still keep loving him… ❤️😊 Yes, for me- this path is not easy at all as it brings lot of my fears on the surface and I constantly have to work harder on myself. But believe me, this is the best decision we could have taken as a family. Believe me, every discomfort is worth it !!!!! The joy and fulfilment I experience in his life, I sometimes envy him 😅🙈 and my constant guiding light 💡 is @aarohi_life_education If you have more questions, do write it in the comment below P.s. we are not at all against schooling, we are also not against any system…we are only choosing to be WITH the child. He is so quick to become violent because his brain can’t comprehend the notion of civilized debate. People with knowledge don’t need to resort to violence because their ideas are enough to win an argument. If I were this young man’s father I would sit him down and try to talk some sense into him before his attitude got him killed, but chances are he doesn’t have a father. Another symptom of Democrat policies.

It has come to my attention that there's a video in circulation of a Ugandan actor Jovan Victor Nsubuga who is homeless in the streets of Canada. I woke up to inbox messages of the video asking me "ISN'T THIS JOVAN?" The little i know about Jovan is that he is a brilliant actor who left the Uganda in such of greener pastures but the plans did not go well. When he was still in Uganda, I was contacted about how Jovan was struggling with addiction and he had moved back to his mother's house in Lugazi. One of the things that hit us hard as artists is isolation. Many times, many of us feel left out or distant from each other and this leads to more complications and vices. I mobilised a group of actors, we fundraised to take essentials home and I was trusted with the responsibility of sitting with Jovan to understand his predicament and standing with him. Fast forward, with all help coming from all who cared for him, Jovan found himself and fought to get back to what he did best. ACTING. We tried to get him acting jobs and he even got back online, he was accessible whenever we wanted him for work. Later, i heard that Jovan had relocated to Canada, I thought that was something great. His online content showed a lot of love and merry. The brother was back on his feet. And THEN..........Now our Jovan is on the streets homeless. I am trying to get in touch with some Ugandan colleagues in Canada to see how they ca help Jovan. I know actor Mushema Housen is already looking for him, film producer Walta Gabriel Busulwa (Ugandan based in Canada) is also working helping and filmmaker Bwayo Moses is also trying his best to find Jovan We wish Jovan all the best and i will be back to update you when i have anything new.

I say it as often as I can, that 1 of my wishes when I die is to have a well attended Janazah, and to witness this level of attendance within 4 hours of announcing his death, in Ramadan makes me full of gratitude. As he is honoured in death, I pray Allah make him of His honored and favored servants, grant him a rank with the righteous in Jannah 🙏🏽. Ya Allah, have mercy on Yusuf Kunle Sulyman, forgive him, wash him off his sins, elevate him, make his barzakh a beautiful abode and reunite us all in Jannah Firdaus. Painful, irreplaceable loss, but we are full of gratitude for a life well lived. May Allah forgive him for his shortcomings and for that which we don’t know of his shortcomings. Ameen 🙏🏽.

I should start by saying I'm no journalist. Today, a random boy from Kavango East approached me and my colleagues as we sat by the parking outside. First we thought he was begging. Only for him to tell us his name is George Kakuwa. Then he went on to say he was the boy who walked 200km to Rundu to attend the founding father's memorial service last year (2025) in February. I of course searched up the newspaper article just to make sure it was him. Before I could even verify, he continued saying he never got his money and he never went back to school. Most of us remember this story, and how he was hailed as a symbol of youthful inspiration, so much so that a certain amount was pledged to help him and his grandmother with his school. But according to him, it never reached the boy or the family. I recorded the video as evidence, his words are his own whether true or not. Someone should definitely follow up on this story to verify.
