I don't know how retarded you would have to be to think this was a persuasive argument.

"If you erased history completely, history wouldn't be exactly the same in 1000 years."

Atheism is pretending that some of the greatest minds in history haven’t been answering “yes, I can prove God exists” for over 2,000 years now.

> “You can’t prove there is a God” Millions of recorded miracles and prophecies fulfilled. > “Muh science” Appeals to something that was pioneered by Christians. New atheism failed because a majority of its believers grew up and gained critical thinking.

Except it’s not just that is it? They have to sperg about how much they hate Christianity (because they never have th balls to attack any other religion), usually because of some banal reason like going to Sunday school when they didn’t want to as a kid. They make hating religion their sole personality trait, they become insufferable rage mongers that don’t know how to live life without wanting to hate every Christian in sight. No, that’s not just it. And it’s given them a negative reputation.

"Can you prove it?" Yes. Read the whole thing, then get back to me.

Hey there, can you PROVE that every science book would be back exactly the same? no? then i don't believe you 🤪

Ricky, your claim begs the question against the very ideas that God guides history and that he communicates actually and intentionally with human beings in particular ways. So your positive argument (about a fictional future history) doesn’t merely assume, “I don’t believe that God exists.” It assumes, “God does not exist.” You also assume that natural theology is not rooted in universal human experience, leading Plato and Aristotle (among many others) to posit a single good creator God, quite independently of the Bible.

There is a reason that religion predates science. In order to engage in the scientific method, you must accept that there is objective truth, and that it is worth pursuing.

Is Ricky really this shallow? This isn’t even about religion. Knowing whether God exists is a philosophical question long before it’s a theological one. The Greeks figured out-500 years before Jesus-that you can’t get something from nothing. Every effect requires a cause. No bridge stands without a foundation. Aristotle called it the First Cause or the Unmoved Mover. That has nothing to do with the Hebrew religion, or Christianity, or any “God of the gaps” stereotype. It’s just basic rational thought. Atheism, on the other hand, pretends you can have existence with no explanation at all. That’s not science-it’s actually more like a strange modern superstition. Poor Ricky.

That's not true of many atheists. I have met several who are not happy merely not believing. They must make sure you know they don't believe, and that they don't approve of you believing. It's like being vegan that way.

Gervais’ atheism claims lack substance because he simply asserts his view and dismisses religion instead of engaging its arguments. He sets up a false dilemma to pit science against religion.

Science is always changing so the books would not be the same. I understand what he’s trying to say…. But this was a very poor argument.

Atheist: "If all books were destroyed, in a thousand years time the science books would be back exactly the same, but the religious books would not exist or be completely different" Me: "Can you prove that?" Atheist: "No" Me: "I don't believe you"

You’d have to be pretty dumb and/or indoctrinated as a kid to be religious 😂 no intelligent adult with critical thinking skills will belive in fairytales

No, that's not how science and religion works. Here's what'll happen if you throw all science papers and spiritual writings away and wait for 1000 years: The magazines in the hard sciences (Math, Physics, Chemistry), they'll return pretty much the same. In soft sciences (e.g. Psychology, Neurology), it's going to be 50/50. Ideological fields like Gender Studies, Racial Studies, most of Sociology, are rubbish anyway. The religious writings will return as they were. Not in word, but in spirit. Their literal meaning will be different, yes. But their metaphorical teachings will be exactly the same.

Uh no the religious books would come back the same too because it’s either demons or our Lord Jesus Christ who did in fact exist and the demons do too

Definitionally you are correct. But atheism has become an identity for most. Their like minded behaviors are studied by social scientists. Atheists on average are the loneliest. Least likely to get married and have kids. Very high rates of mental illness as well.
