The reason the police is giving is that when they took him to recreate the crime scene, he apparently fled with a policeman's gun and then fired, and they had to kill him. If that is indeed the case, if we were to believe the police's version, there are very strict rules on encounter shootouts. The police are supposed to shoot at the accused's legs. You are not supposed to shoot in the chest, you are not supposed to shoot in the back, and you are not supposed to shoot in the head. Why did the Bengal Police shoot this man in a manner that led to his death?..."
