One of my stories is going viral again, but without the essential context that gives it real meaning. This is one of my biggest frustrations with Twitter. Too often, accounts that don't do original reporting repost the work of others with minimal credit. A corner tag isn't real attribution. It doesn’t reflect the effort behind the story, and it certainly doesn’t direct people to the original source the way a proper in-copy tag or quote tweet would. From my perspective, this means hours of work and research are being used to generate engagement for someone else. I’ve reached out to Eyal multiple times asking him to stop, but he refuses. There is a right way to share and credit someone else’s work. This isn’t it. This is just using my reporting to farm engagement. This video shows how often this happens, and it’s still only a fraction.
