This is clearly an optical illusion and should’ve been given out. When will the ICC intervene in such blatant cheating? #AUSvIND

Why didn’t Snicko verify that it touched the ground

There was no scnicko sound when the ball "supposedly" hit the ground. If there's no sound, how could it possibly have hit the ground. Plus there was no deflection deviation - the direction of the ball stayed in its linear trajectory and did not shift. Then physics doesn't add up!

And Travis Head should be banned for celebrating the non-catch. He’s insulted a whole nation of people thinking that was out! 🙄 #AUSvIND

SG said on ABC that there was “clear evidence” it hit the ground. Pretty much sums his commentary up to be honest.

Some will argue you could slide a sheet of sandpaper under that ball.

A fast traveling cricket ball can entrain fluid from a moist surface (grass) creating a zone of lower pressure and results in the grass rising via the Bernoulli effect. This creates the illusion of the ball touching the ground. Leaving the formula here for those interested.

You took the catch so you ought to know!
