The thing I love about Brenna Perez is she’s really good at framing her thoughts. As with all wars, there’s a competing narrative and the one takeaway from this excellent articulation of the conversation is this: In war there are always two sides and the reason the rules of war and the Geneva Conventions exist is to protect both civilians and combatants in times of conflict. Hegseth has openly stated that the U.S. has dispensed with these rules in this war because this is about winning. The problem is, once you’ve telegraphed that message to the enemy you have absolved them from following the rules too. So if you are a family member of a U.S. military service member, your own Secretary of war is telling you to accept that if your loved one is captured there will be no requirement for his captors to follow the rules of war in terms of torture and execution. The sinking of an Iranian warship in the Indian Ocean by a U.S. submarine was yet another indication that there are no rules in this conflict, but that works both ways. If Iran decides to set off a dirty bomb in downtown Washington DC, under Hegseth’s rules, all’s fair in love and war. Dear General V K Singh Ji, In Bhubaneswar city, an Army officer and his fiancée consume 10 pegs of liquor and drive a car in the mid of night around 2 am, indulge in a brawl with engineering students around 2-30 am, and then land up in Bharatpur Police Station creating ruckus inside the police station, so much so that the PS staff had to seek help of PCR. When sent to hospital for medical examination and blood test which is the standard protocol of investigation, they refused. You may also obtain more video footage of CCTV cameras of the incident which are available in social media. Odisha Police has more than 600 Police Stations and they together register and investigate about 2 lakh cases annually. Lakhs of people visit Police Stations including women and Army officers to report their grievances or seek help. It is not that they misbehave with people visiting police stations. Sir, we, the Indian Police, respect and honour our Military because that is the last resort in defending the country from external enemies. A reciprocation from Military towards Police which defends the country from internal enemies, is a normal expectation. Our work is complementary as we together protect the country from within and without. The Yazidis are really starting to annoy me. To begin with, the people who liberated you, protected your honor, and welcomed you were the Kurds. Instead of thanking them, you belittle them?! But that — listening to that conversation you were having there with John Kirby, it puts me at mind to explain physically what we saw. So, let me explain because the smell when you step into a shelter is kind of what hits you first. And you realize that this stuff on the floor is what you fear it is. It — it — it’s — it’s blood and you realize in an instant looking at the strewn shell casings on the floor, looking at the bullet holes in the concrete in front of you and you’re sort of — you can understand what happened that people were used to going to these shelters for safety and security from Hamas rockets and when Hamas was chasing them, they were hoping there was safety and security in these concrete bunkers. Coming to SpaceX StarbaseTX for Flight 12? Well, there are new public access restrictions you need to be aware of that have recently been put into place. All of the area behind (south) of the launch site, including the mud flats and most of the sand dunes are now off limits, which is a big departure from what we have been used to for the previous 11 Flights and before that too. There are new signs and roped off areas, part of both the expansion and construction at the launch site and a wildlife/bird refuge that extends throughout this area. Also, some new restrictions as to where you can park and observe ship and booster rollout operations. The most important thing to keep in mind is follow the instructions you are given by the county Sherrif and the City of Starbase security personnel and do not cross into private or protected areas. Starbase is a very special place that is unlike any other in the world, but over time, there will be more and more restrictions to what you are able to see and do. As always, I recommend you come here sooner than later before we lost all access. I hope this public service announcement is helpful!
