Good my lady. Very informative video. Not sure if you know but some years ago the government spearheaded an initiative to grow winter vegetables. At Spring Plain (in Clarendon I believe). Not making any point, just informing that we tried growing strawberries and such at one time

Problem is we keep depending on govt to fund everything. Govt should lead in terms of policy and direction and allow citizens to invest. Plus our means of farming is very inefficient. In Ja 50 men to farm 3 acres. In USA that’s 1 man and a tractor.

I would like the research to consider data from the Ministry of Agriculture in terms of what is being done to boost the sector. This would allow for less sensationalisation of the perceived issues, for instance, what would really happen if we stopped importing.

How many farmers operate as businesses? This minute their is a glut and the next there is scarcity. Many farmers lack the basics of how to turn farming into a business. They need to be educated and the MoAgri can help in this regards.
