boomers will watch this and genuinely think you cant afford this because you bought a coffee last week.

You should see it in Canada. A townhouse....

It’s the dollar that has no value. If more people understood inflation is a tax there would be more outrage

Wow this is crazy hey lets ignore this house is 18 minutes from DISNEY WORLD and that might have something to do with the pricing Any time someone quotes the "national median" household price ignore them. Home prices in the US are extremely regional and even in the area you can go to Daytona Beach and house prices drop almost 200k and you could still commute to Orlando if you needed to.

I let the bank have my house back. Paid 25 k for a year of payments… only 3k went to principle. 5k for tax and insurance. 17k pure interest payments for the 235k loan. Loan was sold after closing to another bank who made my total repayment at the end 983k total on a 235k loan. Doesn’t make sense. The owner before me only paid 88k for the home when they bought it. The original owner paid about 25k for it. Total bullshit for real. They don’t want homeownership. They want us crammed into apartments and piled on top of each other. If we’re all in one place… easier for them that way.

This is the direct result of all the COVID printing of money. Inflation is making the money worth less so you need more. Cause and effect. Those 2500 dollar checks don't seem so good now huh? And it only going to get worse. You need about $5,550 in 2026 dollars to have the same purchasing power as $500 in 1958.

Nailed it. Every home in my area, at every price point has doubled in value since 10 years ago. Been like that for 3 years now. (I've been looking to buy for 3 years)

Just means its overpriced and will correct

That wasn't a "starter" home then either. At 59k a year the most you should pay a month is about $860. People don't want to move into a real starter home at around 125k and fix it up and live there for 10 years then sell it and roll it into a house like that.

Buy a smaller home in a different neighborhood 🤷🏽♂️

Rents went up due to market collusion across the us. A large percentage of available rentals and homes are used up by illegals and refugees, putting a further strain on the supply. Large financial services started buying homes, rental trailer/mobile lots, driving up costs. wcgw

All of it brought to you by BlackRock and friends who quietly infiltrated Florida housing markets in the past 10 ten years buying up inventory and price fixing. Saw it happen in real time

Lol! That wasn't even a "starter home" 10 years ago and people who think it is are the problem.

buy Housecoin. $House is the asset

Massive Crash Inbound

It was house flippers

We were underwater from the housing crash earlier 2000. In 2016 the house values started back up. I told my spouse we needed to get out or we would be stuck in that home. Bought house w/acreage. Said it was an investment. I look like Nostradamus right now. I’m not but look like😹

If you really think about it renting is worse

2 people should make over 100k, the median income is a misleading stat. If a couple (household) dont make 100k, rent

Thank you, Biden for the open borders… Now people can’t afford homes.

Not sure I am capable of understanding what it's probably like these days for young people buying houses; I do know I am sick of hearing about it.

And that has never been a starter home. Aaand it was never meant to be one. Aaaaand it's in landlocked, sh*thole, boomer-country Florida.

So move to a different area genius. Where you don’t have to pay $1,000 a month in taxes.

It was always about wage stagnation Actual buying power has remained unchanged since 1991..because they TAKE IT in inflation. You make more than 1991..but it is all fake numbers on paper. All of it controlled to keep you down. They see people getting ahead..they come up with a reason to print more money to devalue it..then they regulate and bring in immigrants. We haven't had a chance since the 80s.

bro that shit is gonna drop give it two years

life if i bought a home in 2016 instead of being a high school sophomore

HOLY CRAP, we've all heard this rant a million times already! Just stop, it's boring and all the online bitching in the world won't change shit. AND using a Florida home is the worst example possible because of the huge swings in home prices over the years.

💯 everything leveled up. It’s gonna be some kind of ironic if the only time millennials get to buy a house is if they inherit money from their parents while their parents are trying to sell their dream houses to downsize, cause they’re empty nesters.

@Keyeshia_

I mean that’s why you need to save for a big down payment, aiming for the 20% its ideal

damn. wish I had a $250k starter. Had to buy a cheaper townhome for $140k first

leaving out the part that the last owners clearly updated it massively

Ok what is the cost to rent a home like that in that area?

The funny thing is he thinks a starter home is $240k lol.
