Religious gatherings used to be about gratitude, discipline, and showing up with purpose. Now they’re concerts with zero capacity planning where the crowd is the product and stampede risk is just part of the vibe. This isn’t a pure management failure. It’s what happens when a culture abandons meaning for FOMO and status, then acts surprised when the infrastructure can’t handle the chaos it demanded. You prioritize the experience over the people, and eventually the experience eats the people.
