I honestly don't disagree. I showed the trailer to my best friend and my wife, who are both more casual viewers and they both said to me, "I'm confused" and that's not a good sign. Marvel needs the casuals back. This trailer wasn't it.

Thanos totaled 5 min of onscreen time before Infinity War, so this is some recency bias as to how much build-up there was. And while the stones were well hinted at, the multiverse is even moreso relatively if we're comparing villain macguffins.

I hard disagree with this take. This plot line has 100% been setup and that’s the case even with them having to completely pivot from Jonathan Majors’ Kang arc, to a new arc of Doom. The whole point of the ambiguity is that we’re gonna figure out what Doom’s issue is with the hero’s. That said, if you have any kind of comprehension when watching movies, you SHOULD ALREADY KNOW! Doom is mad about the incursions in the multiverse and it’s essentially going to try and eliminate them all which would mean doing things like wiping out whole universes like 616. We see him with Franklin at the end of F4 because Franklin is the weapon who could do this for him with ease, hence why Galactus also wanted Franklin. You also have the entire Multiverse of Madness movie, No Way Home, and Loki which all set up the incursions issue. To say you have no idea what this movie is gonna be about, is to say “I have no capability to comprehend things unless they’re entirely spelled out for me”.

If you take away all the MCU connections, the doomssay trailer is absolutely awful. It doesn't show anything about the movie. (A lot of trailers show too much tbh, but this is way to little). It's MCU connections are a crutch though in terms of movie trailers

Idk but i feel like the fact there is no avengers team yet is a plot point + they're purposefully making the threat unclear, most people think that Thor's monologue is about doom but it's mostly definitely about the multiverse collapsing

This is how I know y’all haven been complaining this whole time instead of paying attention. Cs no one would be saying this stupid shit or feeling this way. We messed with a timeline trying to fix ours and you think everything else in the multiverse is going smoothly?

If you have familiarity with the comics then you'd have an idea what this movie is about The collapse of the multiverse. The multiverse is ending. This movie is based on secret wars 2015 where all the multiversus start colliding in "incursions" and doom saves whats left but becomes a tyrant. The setup has been here for years with all the multiverse stuff across the movies so the setup exists, it was just sloppy.

Lemme catch you up since you missed Loki “Long ago there was a vast multiversal war, countless unique timeslines battled each other for supremacy.” And now multiversal war broke out again.

What we do know is Cap had some very bad plastic surgery and it wasn’t Howard Stark giving him a Kenny Rogers face.

It's probably better that the Kang set up that was horrible. How did Kang tell Antman in quantimania that he beat the Avengers multiple times just to get beat by Antman a few minutes later!! It doesn't even make sense and his threat level pretty much went to zero after that.

The MCU is clearly about a single thing that has happened over MOST of the last couple of movies: Incursions. NWH/MOM/Captain Marvel/LOKI/DEADPOOL are all about incursions. It’s not hard. They broke reality too many times and now it’s coming back to bite them in the ass.

Can't believe people literally need the trailer to show the entire plotline these days, can't just wait for it to release and actually have surprises anymore.

The issue is we’re tying together movies that do not flow into each other like the old mcu did. We’re just collecting all the characters and putting them together. None, NONE of their end credits actually flow together with the exception of thunderbolts and fantastic 4

Dr Doom is the greatest villain ever and I'm excited to see him on screen but I got to agree with all of this. It's announcement was a cash grab, an act of desperation, a course correct. Kang could've been something cool... recast! Infinity Vision is a joke 😂😂😂

And if I said Multiverse Saga should've just been extended to 7 or 8 phases, while phases 4-6 were just the filler needed to include EVERYONE (X-Men movie, DS3, etc.), let Phases 7 and 8 be the actual pay-off. Because we're showing up to the party empty-handed, not even utensils.
