This literally happened to me yesterday. I was having a discussion with a guy about how we need to repeal the 17th amendment so Senators will serve their states rather than the people in their states. This guy kept telling me to google why this current system is better while I was trying to get him to understand that the original intent was for the Senate not to represent the people, but the states themselves, so that there would be a check against over expansion of federal power. He just kept saying I was wrong, and I should google why I was wrong, when I was quoting the Federalist Papers literally written by the people who designed the government on why the original system was more protective of liberty and freedom. His response were basically “Just google it bro” and “So you’re not gonna google why you’re wrong???”
