People generally start up business with their own (borrowed) money to profit. You all have to stop evaluating things in terms of ideals. A bookstore probably wouldn’t be profitable in that location, for example. Be mad at black folks for being obsessed with highs/gratifications, with limited wholesome or intellectual interests. I’ve been around black folks, in actual historically black neighborhoods, for most of my life. We have a desire for quick grabs (corner store) … and we wanna know where the hoes at (Club/Or Salon-Barber, getting fresh for the club). This is the real reason why our communities are filled with these kinda businesses. Develop a better culture at home, which will create a market for various kinds of positive business in our communities. Oh, I forgot. Food is another, but we’ve allowed asians to come in and run food spots more efficiently than we do.
