Starmer also doesn't understand how North Sea gas / oil works. UK is largest consumer of this and we don't sell gas on the international markets as we don't have LNG plants. There are only pipelines to Netherlands and Ireland.

He is talking bullshit, because at night, when it isn't windy, we have zero energy coming in from those sources. So if you increased them by a thousand fold - 0 x 1000 = 0. Solar and wind cannot provide reliable energy. Batteries would help but the cost would bankrupt the UK.

Is there a country in the upper Northern hemisphere that is 100% powered by wind and solar (Norway closest but mainly because of unique hydro ability) 24/7 365 days a year EVERY year? It's neither secure, nor independent because It relies 100% on the weather.
