While we welcome the news, the police must learn their lesson. This is why The Free Speech Union is helping Graham Linehan sue the Met for wrongful arrest and false imprisonment. Following the announcement that Graham would face no further action, the Met also announced they no longer would investigate NCHIs. This is a direct result of the tireless campaign led by the Free Speech Union to scrap NCHIs. While this is a step in the right direction, the fight is not over. All other UK police forces must follow suit. NCHIs are a waste of police time and taxpayer money. It is now time for ALL police officers to focus on our streets, not our tweets. He was arrested, taken to a police station and questioned for several hours. In the early hours of the following morning, he was rushed to hospital after his blood pressure rose to dangerously high levels. The Free Speech Union is proud to have supported Graham in taking legal action against the Metropolitan Police for wrongful arrest and breaches of his free speech rights.
