Smile says it all.

What’s not to love?😂

made possible by John Bonham in "When the Levee Breaks"

Which was a remake of a 1920’s song

@OllamFodhla Just listened to the original. The zeppelin one is 10000x better and sounds nothing like the original.

@MarieIsabellaB Minor vs. major key

@MarieIsabellaB And a major lack of John Bonham

@MarieIsabellaB I remember the day we started lacking John Bonham. Senior year in high school. This stoner dude was sitting there in the quad, shocked and dejected: "John Bonham just died."

Now kids look like this and listen to rappers cry about their mental illness

No one with that haircut should ever be taken seriously

i BOUGHT that album on a Cassette tape! (a cassette tape was kinda like a memory stick.. sort of)

I had that album on cassette, too!!

The Beastie Boys.❤️🔥

😎

When they ask what kind of movies we watched in the late 1900's

Real movies 😂

With real actors

It will all be AI soon enough, sadly

Beastie boys? I rather jam a fucking ticonderoga #2 pencil through my brain! Sabbath Zeppelin Stones SRV Ozzy Eagles Kizz I can think of a thousands bands better than that shit!

As can I, but at least I can appreciate more besides the same stuff, all of which I love, but I’m glad I expanded my horizons. Enjoy your day

@Marc_Montana Marco forgot that it's relative. Besides, all of those bands were from Ancient Times. We are just talking Olden Days right now.😁

@MarieIsabellaB You wanna talk rap then I choose RUN DMC! They were real rap.

Yep. Beasties were the OG's.

💯💯

That sample from when the levees break goes SO damn hard 🤘 Beastie and Zeppelin for the win

@LitGuitarsFL I love Zeppelin

Why back in the olden days before fire, we used to rub 2 sticks together and stomp our feet while we hummed out loud.

🤣😂

@brianOonVimeo My buddy's kid called Nirvana oldies and I about whooped his ass with my cane.

@brianOonVimeo I remember the first time I heard the RHCP on the classic rock station😩

Lol, my daughter already knows 🤣 Most illingest B-boy, I got that feeling 'Cause I am most ill and I'm rhymin' and stealin'

🔥🔥

🤣🤣🤣 FUCK YEAH! That's perfect eh! I still have a turn table and a pile of records. Some from my grandfather and mum and dad's and some of my own! 🥰😎

😆

😆

In case it wasn't already obvious, that drum track is sampled from John Bonham's creative "bangings-around" on Led Zeppelin's "When the Levee Breaks".

And that song wasn’t an original creation by zeppelin either

While Zeppelin apparently stole several songs, I don't know if they ever claimed to be the originators of that one, and somewhat doubt it. Like "Gallows Pole", they were known to do the occasional cover.

A lot of stuff was shared and sampled then, and I have no problem with it. I like see how different people are inspired in such a variety of ways. I don’t have to like them all to appreciate it, though it helps lol

I know I have a strange perspective. I'm a musician who is also a music snob, meaning that while I love "music", I sincerely hate most music. And I can't help it. Tangentially related, in my distant and misspent youth I performed both Zeppelin and Beastie Boys onstage (in both Texas and Illinois, with bands you've never heard of, in college-town bars you've almost certainly never been to), and while I still hold Zeppelin's musicianship in high regard, I never even liked the Beastie Boys. But WOW, the crowds sure did, which is the sole reason their songs were on the set lists, way more often then Zeppelin's were. You may already know this, but even back in the '80s, Zeppelin songs weren't in much demand for (or from) bar bands, mainly because having the crowd really *stop and listen* wasn't the point, and that's what inevitably would happen. Keeping the crowd wild, dancing, and drinking, i.e. keeping the bar staff and owners happy, was the point, thus the heavy-ish presence of the Beastie Boys and similar high-tempo hits.

Related: Even back in the very early '80s, I was never a metal fan. I was the kind of guy who would rush over to the radio and nearly jamming a finger hitting the OFF button when a metal song came on. BUT... Through crazy circumstances I found out that PERFORMING metal is an absolute hoot. So while I don't actually LIKE metal, I had a lot of fun, once upon a time, long ago, way back in dreamtime, being the lead singer of a metal cover-band.

I didn’t get into the much heavier stuff until I had been playing the drums for a few years. Metal was one of the few ways to learn double bass and stuff

Back in 1984 I stumbled through my first set with that metal ban at an outdoor concert. We opened with "The Immigrant Song", closed with Van Halen's "Running with the Devil", and had quite a few other songs in between that I really don't remember all that well these days, except I'm pretty sure one was by Ozzy and it wasn't "Iron Man" or "Crazy Train", and one by Judas Priest (I have no idea which song), but WHOA that was a wild and fun time. Nothing by Red Hot Chili Peppers (it should go without saying), mainly because it wasn't 1985 yet. But I did get to work their show at the Theatre Gallery (TG!) in Deep Ellum when they played there, and looking at those pictures now - good heavens we were all such CHILDREN!

My daughter’s 1st iPod (old, yes!) was all our music. Zeppelin to Beastie Boys 🤘🏼 no fkn Spice Girls 😜

💜💜

This one is a little older

I remember them

this will make your head bob, don't care who you are.

💯

Can we agree to not call the 80's the late 1900's. :)

I only said that for a laugh, because that’s how the kids refer to it, though some days I feel old af😂
