Boys used to learn from their dads/grandads by listening to them talk to other old men. By the time I was 10, I could name every major engine component and knew what it was for. I also understood small gas engines, how to gap a spark plug, chainsaws, and different types of boats.

This really just firms my position that we should have never left the family farm, or more specifically the agrarian society. While the industrial revolution brought much invention, it also brought with it the end of much of our culture and cohesiveness.

My son purchased this one for $400 But has $1900 in parts. Bought it in a 4x4 crate then assembled/rebuilt with my help. He was 10 at the time.
