This is hard to watch.

I used to say “I lost everything” and my sponsor corrected me, “you gave it away for alcohol” - it totally changed my perspective. I have a choice. Today, I choose to be sober. 450 days and counting. #soberlife

This is a severe physical addiction that has to be monitored as he detoxifies. He can not quit cold turkey or he most likely will die. Stupid people tell him to just stop drinking. It doesn't work that way! Heartbreaking 💔 God help him! Send one of your peeps to help him!

I was like that. Been in bands, toured, partied, drank, threw it all away. Been sober since September 2nd 2012. Took a week in ICU but I’ve been clean since and I’ll never touch the shit again.

Naltrexone. Sinclair method… it works. A generic drug, costs pennies. Saved my life.

I have a family member who is an alcoholic & it is so destructive to those of us who love him. I think the best way to prevent alcoholism is to never get in a habit of drinking every day. Once they need to drink every day, it is so difficult for them to stop.

That was me in 2012. But by the grace of God, it could happen again. I pray for the success of anyone who really wants out of it...

I used to swig vodka straight from bottle. Had them stashed around house. Life was a MESS. Alcoholism is no joke. Physically/mentally “need it” Consumed with when can I drink? how can I hide it? Etc. it’s exhausting. Went to treatment a couple times to get help.

This is why I have sympathy for addicts. ANYONE can become addicted to MANY different things. Stopping an addiction is one of the hardest thing to do. These people deserve our grace & support. They hate & disrespect just makes it harder. Any of us could be him. Remember that!

I'm 57 years old. For at least 40 years of my life, I have been involved with an alcoholic. From a parent to a husband to a child. So sad. My heart breaks for him. ❤️
