Abuse isn't about a "wounded child'. It's about power and control -- often with sadistic features.

That`s not emotional intelligence.. If someone has trauma or pain and they are an adult then they should be actively mature enough to be dealing with it instead of expecting other people become their "emotional punching bags" - and that is what emotional intelligence is! owning up to your personal problems and dealing with them instead of projecting them onto other people.

Brilliant! And then someone comes along and says stop reading psychology 😂 The fact is you end up reading them correctly and that scares the sh*t outta them!!

Once I understood this about my Dad it made it much easier to love him. Only drawback is I was 44

All in all, we’re just a bunch of big kids trying to make it in the world. People are simply older versions of their childhood selves, navigating life with insecurities and desires. Pretty much making it up as we go along. Don’t take life too seriously. Everything‘s gonna be OK. 🥰👍❤️

Yes. But I stayed with an emotionally abusive partner for far too long because of this and then he became psychotic and violent and almost killed me, so when it’s clear they aren’t capable of change knowing their trauma it’s time to leave

if i'd see a child acting out in that adult i would slap the f** right out of him. and while violence might never be the answer to solving problems boy would we have a more disciplined generation, yes we would!

Nope. We live in a new generation where toxicity is applauded. A lot of these people aren't fucking wounded children in adult form, they're just toxic assholes without positive influence..

Self reflection and self development is such an important part of that process and it sometimes takes a long time to realise that you don't have to win every argument and in fact some arguments aren't worth trying to win. It's a continuous battle though, every now and then, things NEED to be said.

@ChatterBox_Muse I taught this in psychology. It really did help people learn to relate to one another and not hold anything against another person.

I agree. But some people are just mean bitches and they like/want to be that way.

The part that scares me the most is now I get to step back if they never snap out of it or break their habit while they young they more than likely not going to as adult . In most case we likes to let them learn but I don’t think a smart solution either that y we got many dumbass

For women: A good man doesn't adapt his behavior to your emotions, but it doesn't mean he doesn't understand them or the story behind.

In my experience, revealing this emotional intelligence is incredibly helpful to others and a deterant to unhealthy energy or behavior.

These comments are awful, people don't get it. Maybe we need a new term, EQ sounds too normy.

It’s not intelligence. Its a theory he read somewhere which probably fits his narrative However, it can be true. Of course we should not hate anyone but he should be prosecuted to fullest extent of law. Courts or judges should be allowed to use theories. System can’t be perfect and these theories will only complicate it.
