Clearly, China is doing it wrong. The alternative approach: UK government just announced that railways in northern England, that already exist, will be upgraded slightly and it will take only twenty years to do it.

The West is not used to competing for resources. Talk of a free market economy was only interesting when it was in charge. Now that it has to compete with China for resources, it is reverting to its old system: violence, destruction, destabilization,regime change and colonization

While some countries are just creating problems and stealing resources!

The West has no moral high ground either, it perfected colonial extraction for centuries. The real question now is Africa’s sovereignty: who sets the terms, who owns the assets, who carries the risk, and how much local value stays on the continent. This is exactly where a new world order is being shaped, project by project. Türkiye can be a serious partner in this era because it has historical ties and a non colonial posture when it focuses on fair trade, skills transfer, joint production, and transparent deals that strengthen Africa rather than mortgage it.

A 150 years ago' Canada and the US 'imported' Chinese workers to build North American Railways infrastructure, we owe a debt of gratitude to these foreign workers that were treated like slaves, Today Canada might ask China to help rebuild High speed rail transport with the technology that China has developed. I do think that partnering with China on an equal and respectful partnership is the way to go for the Canadian economy

Notice how the Chinese bring in their own labour, those people don't end up going back to China after the job is done... they stay in Africa. Opening up China Towns and other companies selling CCP subsidised crap to the Africans. Fueling Chinas growth at the expense of locals.

This is a PPP project between Algerian government and China. China has stakes in entire economical line with the ore mined delivered to China ports. That is an infrastructure project of China. There are many projects like this in Africa, where short term gains of certain politicians prevail over long term African benefit. China replaces or takes over entire economical ecosystems for its own benefit. East African union kinda got it, by taking out China from tenders and direct buy contracts in the last two years, prefer to diversify foreign power play in internal economics.
