LEC just had to reduce apex speed of 2nd turn to make the corner tighter, which HAM did here. LEC carried higher speed to be ahead at the apex and just ran HAM off. Sad that it cost the team and HAM points, potentially a shot at the championship as well

That's because LH took the optimal line into 1, which allowed LN space. With CL he was trying so hard to squeeze LH out of the move that he was way out of position to truly fight - LH got the position enough to require CL to back off in 2 but he didn't, stayed in & pushed LH off.

I think Lerclerc was surprised by the dive since he was already covering the inside, compromising his own line. These situations are not similar as shown by Hamilton being on the ideal line giving him the ability to give space on the exit. Different situations.
