Once the start buying health foods like fruits vegetables fresh meat and fresh fish it’s going to be a problem because people will feel that snap recipients are eating better than they are. It is a no win situation for them. They pay tases too so its also their tax dollars

These are examples of what food stamps should cover which is 100% beef burger patties. They have plenty of collagen as well so no need to worry about collagen supplements. If you see Bubba burger patties for $5 clearance get that instead but this if not.

Food stamps should have the same rules as WIC currently does.

Here's another idea, have brands refund part of the cost of buying their products. For example, Welch's grape juice could offer to discount the price of their juice when purchased with an EBT card. The store would get the full amount, but the EBT card would have $1 less deducted.

Exactly! I noticed something new in my grocery store today, the sugared cereals were in one area of the cereal aisle and the healthier cereals were in another area. I also saw that same organization in the breakfast bar section. 😊

I feel that the amount of food stamps/ebt they get should be reduced by the avg amount that was once spent on those items. Seems logical the balance was what was used for feeding the family.

I work in retail and 90% of what I see come through the checkout is soda candy chips and processed food. Your lucky to see a banana 🍌 or a grape 🍇 🤷‍♀️

We have learned a hard economic lesson about helping people, assuming always that these are not FAKE rage-bait videos. I favor cleaning up the user lists to delete fraudulent accounts and removing soda, chips and non-nutritious snacks from the EBT list of acceptable purchases.

That's the way it was intended to be, but thanks to powerful lobbyists working on behalf of the junk food manufacturers and weak, stupid, and greedy politicians targeted by them, we ended up where we are now. Obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. are all skyrocketing.

When I worked for a grocer in TN, people could use their food stamps to purchase custom cakes from the bakery. On more than 1 occasion I was making full sheet cakes and tiered cakes for people to purchase with their food stamps. Yet homeless people who had no way to cook, were not allowed to purchase a hot meal from the deli. They could however purchase that same meal if it were cold and in the case. Please, make it make sense!
