This is incredible. The new NASA image release from #Artemis includes a sequence of 'Hello World' still photographs. I've been processing / animating them and here's what the original didn't show us: Satellites, including their solar arrays, lightning storms and dancing aurora!

From International Space Station, we have a unique vantage point to observe lightning storms from directly above them. Much like from the ground, they appear as rapid, intense flashes that are over as quickly as they started. But, with the help of handheld cameras and a bit of practice (and, admittedly, some luck), we can capture these intense flashes with a very high frame rate then slow them down to see how the lightning propagates. It's lightning, in slow motion. This is one that occurred over Indonesia on 6/28. I shot it for a half second at 1/120 frame rate, so, 60 separate frames. I then compiled those frames into two videos: the first, in real-time, and the second, slowed down so that each frame is a half second to highlight the progression of the flash. Note the incredible burst of light in one frame, which includes what is likely a TLE on the upper left. A TLE, or Transient Luminous Event, is an electrical discharge that happens in the upper atmosphere above lightning storms (if you haven’t seen Ferry Farhan TLE photo from last week, head over to her page). As their name implies, these are transient, or short lived, phenomena – it appeared in only one frame of the sequence, lasting for no more than 1/120th of a second. The last photo is that single frame. Absolutely incredible.

We may have some #aurora fun coming! More than 4 solar storms have been launched in the past few days from Region 4334. Some of them are headed to Earth! Along with the fast solar wind picking up by January 9, we could see a bumpy ride with storm conditions peaking January 11. G1 conditions expected thus far, but another storm just launched so forecasts may be changing rapidly! The first video highlights storms launched since January 6. The second video shows a closeup of Storms 3 and 4, which launched today in the Earth-Strike Zone. More analysis is coming.

Checked the footage, and that is indeed the US embassy in Tel Aviv. That drone flew around 2000km from Yemen, past all Israeli defences, the Royal Navy, US Navy, and more. The humiliation. This is a new era. And the image of Israeli or Western military superiority is gone.

Here is a 3D visualization of the coming solar storm using model parameters from NASA's run, NOAA's run (shown below), and the coronagraph views from STEREO-A/COR2 and SOHO/LASCO. The storm is expected to hit Earth early December 9. The 3D visualization clearly shows the low inclination orientation of the solar slinky core inside the larger storm envelope. Of course, the earlier eruption that erupted to the northeast, might deflect this structure a little bit, but likely that will only make the structure move more towards the ecliptic plane, which will give us a larger chance of crossing through the solar slinky core. One nice thing about low inclination flux rope cores is that they almost ALWAYS have southward field in them at some point. So this is good news for aurora photographers-- as long as this solar storm stays true to its launch trajectory and inclination, we could see some organized southward pointed magnetic field. Considering this solar storm is fast-- that usually indicates the storm will not deviate much from its original launch trajectory! When I was younger, I dreamed of growing up and becoming an astronaut. I wanted to explore space and work for NASA, but God had a different story in mind. Yet somehow, He still brought me back here, getting to sing the National Anthem for something so historic. It’s been incredible to witness the Artemis II launch and team make history this week 🥹🚀⭐️

"Mega Man X5 Improvement Project Addendum" is about to become "Mega Man X5 Tweaks." Long overdue. The first release aims to make most changes from the Addendum project available individually, including those additional "hex editor" options that some of you might have missed entirely. And everything I've been working on for the past couple of years: 🤖 Armor sprites displayed by Parts (the big one) 🤖 Special Weapons (regular and charged) available for all Armors 🤖 Boss Parameters (Health Bars, Leveling System options, damage and speed values for select moves, and reduced idle times) And a few localization choices that previously were impossible to mix and match: All the English scripts we've gone through: 🤖 Original PS1 version 🤖 Original PS1 + MMXLC2 changes (what we had up to v1.5) 🤖 Retranslation (what we've had since v1.6), now available with either the new or the original font And also: 🤖 Japanese, with all the necessary graphics changes included ...And a bunch of Title Screen options. Why not. The GUI is still a work in progress, obviously, but it's growing daily. I might include a couple of extra things too. The important thing is that every issue under the hood that prevented this from being possible from the start has already been solved. See you soonnn

Following the Korean subway ads, this is a project I've been preparing with a few brats!(The video is still in production☺️) We plan to run a video ad at Visvision, located at the south exit of Makuhari Messe Station, from March 2nd to 8th (including the 7th Fes period). And one of my goals is to go see this with the brats before Bae's Fes stage 3!

i've personally waited for the official confirmation from CamSur LGU and the news before fully processing it. hindi naman din nagexpect ang blooms sa number of attendees to be this massive. but this is what happen when casual fans and blooms are given the opportunity to see BINI. people waited under the heat, skipped meals, and stood for hours just to watch them perform 🥺❤
