The key is "from your perspective". The reality is the distance doesn't change, but the time traversing it does, so you have 2 different perspectives from time compression.

An interesting way to express it, but the jet airplane didn’t shorten the distance across the USA any more than the train or covered wagon. The time to traverse the distance went from months to days to hours. Effectively saying six hours is 20 or 3000 miles travel.
