This is Marcus, and his accidental service dog, Gunner. Marcus served 3 deployments to Afghanistan. For years, he’s woken up at 3am, drenched in sweat, convinced he’s in back in Kandahar. Gunner came to the family when his owner passed away, which was a neighbor of Marcus. On the first night they had him, Marcus had a nightmare, and Gunner immediately jumped on his chest, and laid on him. For the first time in years, Marcus didn’t thrash, and was able to just breath, despite almost 80lbs of weight on him. Gunner laid on him for 2hrs+ that night. Marcus’s wife had urged him to get help for years. She was able to catch it on recording, to show to his counselor. The counselor told them what Gunner was doing was called “Pressure Therapy”…which is what PTSD service dogs are trained to do. Gunner never had training. He just had instincts, and an instant bond. The term, “Man’s best friend” doesn’t cut it sometimes.

Experts Only Festival day 2 takeaways: •The festival was run even better than it was day 1, with seamless logistics. •Summit’s surprise set at 3:50 was for the OG’s. The vibes in the crowd for that set were incredible. •LP Giobbi had the dance floor jumping early and often. Loved the energy she brought to her set. •While I thought Summit’s day 1 headlining set was great, his closing set last night was the best set of the entire weekend. He brought back a lot of the melodic tracks that make some of his festival sets so special. Overall, EO Fest was everything NYC has needed since EZoo. John Summit brought something special to the city this weekend — this feels like it’s about to be NYC’s must-attend dance music festival for years to come.

As always, while watching some scenes from the episode, I get this déjà vu. And this time it happened during the hospital scene. I’m honestly 100% sure that the earlier almost miscarriage situation was intentional. It felt like they wanted to show us Serhat’s reaction when his child and the woman carrying his child were in danger and then later contrast it with his reaction when the woman he truly loves, the other half of his soul, is the one fighting for her life. I will never stop appreciating Ilhan’s acting. From episode one people doubted him, saying he only had one expression. But back then that was Serhat… the controlled doctor, M’s husband, the surgeon who keeps everything inside. Now he’s completely different. The emotional shift is almost 180 degrees from that version of Serhat. From the cave scene to the hospital scene the emotions were already intense, but the hospital was a masterpiece. The way he could barely stay standing, the way he allowed himself to cry openly even though his guards were around him! he didn’t care. Because the woman he loves had just been lifeless in his arms. And look at the details: he went down on his knees twice in this episode for her. A man as powerful and towering as a mountain fell to his knees because he felt utterly helpless! First in the cave, when he realized he was helpless! she was fainting, the venom in her blood was faster than anything he could do, and his strength meant nothing in that moment. Then again in the hospital, when he finally reached his limit and simply couldn’t stay standing anymore😭 And this is the same man who showed almost no emotion when his father died. The same man who barely reacted when his mother had a heart attack. The same man who stayed composed when his legal wife nearly miscarried.
