Aussie here. We let the hose run for a minute as well but not only because it was hot, but to make sure there were no red back spiders or other little critters in there 😁

My brother and I would walk off our farm on Friday evening and stumble home Sunday afternoon some weekends at 14yo.

We walked through our tiny town to the general store, and with our guns went INTO the store and bought shotgun shells for 50 cents apiece (the owner knew us all personally, and that we couldn't afford a "box" so he would sell u individual shells so we could hunt), put them into the shotguns, and continue walking from town with loaded guns to the woods for squirrel, quail, and rabbit hunting. My HS had multiple trucks (student owned) with gun racks as well with loaded rifles and shotguns in them unlocked all day daily on school grounds too. A lot of ass whippings took place and not one single time did anyone even think of getting a gun and being a puss, you just lost if you lost! That all stopped in the 80s with the introduction of the DOE though. Was kewl times before then though, the "good ole days".
