like idk how to explain it but old dbd felt SOOO different than it does now idk?? like i'm not talking about balance or anything; idk if i'm just used to all the audio n that but it doesn't have that sparkle like it used to?

The grunginess was just way more effective with the graphics back then. Now, everything just looks dated—and, even more so, as they try to push the graphics further. That is the limitation of building on jank, and I don’t think we’re gonna get something cohesive until a dbd2.

the vibe was way more spooky than it is now. the lobby being dark, foggy and grey, survivors actually covered in dirt and the maps feeling eeire and abandoned. now it's all bright and clean and fresh looking which sounds nice but isn't meant to be the style for this game.

You can tell it’s OG DBD because the frame rate is abhorrent even in the main menu lol. Old lighting was way better though, everything looks more generic in the new / reworked realms.
