Yeah this was episode was neat and whacky, given later on he makes a clone of Starscream just to kill him(or to stage it so it looks like Starscream died lol) Nevermind many years later Galvatron would ACTUALLY annihilate the real Starscream. It is funny seeing the antics tho.

Later in the episode when the REAL Optimus calls Trailbreaker “Trailblazer” and Spike “Splick” is just icing on the cake.

At this point you realize G1 Meggs is just obsessed to fight Oppy and that's the only thing that matters for him. The rest of Abots are just a crew of unnamed dudes he doesn't care about at all. Which is stupid if you think he's leading a war.

I'd like to think this was the writers being at least semi-aware of the shows's constant animation errors.

Kinda funny to me that over the billions of years of fighting them, Megatron didn’t even know what most of the Autobots looked like and only knew their names. Either G1 Megatron is extremely dumb or is a homebody.
