You all should have stopped using the China spy app when it came out that they were recording keystrokes outside the app and the US military banned it.

this will piss people off- but anyone at any time can take anything you have ever publicly posted and put in ai if they want to. this removes that friction and i agree it’s crazy- but people can still do it even without that feature.

She puts it very eloquently. And it honestly made me emotional. And I do genuinely feel for her and all creators like her for all the bad that is coming (and make no mistake, it IS coming). But TikTok (or any other social media, including this one) didn't have to change their TOS for this to happen. It's always been the case that people agreed to content to not be their exclusive property. And whether there could be a legal argument to be made for copyright infringement -- or if the change goes further, defamation or false light -- that will always end up being against the adulterated video author and not the platform. In other words, you are screwed!

I Remember when: David Bowie came out decades ago and stated to other musicians something along the lines of: Enjoy it while it lasts, referring to how musicians would lose so much access to "their own music rights" Most of society ignored this or laughed actually claiming those musicians had no rights to their own music and then began downloading it for free. Now: the generations that downloaded all this "Free Content" that others created are actually surprised that this this is now happening to them ?

When will people understand that an app or a website is owned by a company. Anything you post there is owned by said company and can be used in any way they see fit. If you don't want your data used, don't use their service.

You are still the owner of the content but that's just a technicality relating to who gets sued for defamation...
