You can get ones that sound like mosquitoes too.

That's worse. One that only plays at night when trying to sleep.

@HDealla I had one that was activated when there was no light and went off when you turned lights on 😂

@PlanetOfMemes 😂

In college my neighbor and I setup a network between our homes so we could game together and share internet. This was before wireless or cheap internet. We both ran Linux and had accounts on each other's machines so we could share compute and storage. We also screwed with each other quite a bit because we both had similar humor. He got a new sound card (yes, those didn't come with computers back then) so I setup a cron job that played a frog noise set to go off at 3am twice a week, then I forgot about it. We lived in the Florida swamps and there were frogs everywhere, so I guess he didn't notice. Several months later I was hanging out with him and his girlfriend, and she said something about him having frogs in his closet. He became defensive. It was clearly something that had become a point of contention between them. It was then that I remembered that, due to limited space, he'd drilled a hole in his closet wall so he could keep his computer in the closet, and it came to me that the frog in his closet that his girlfriend was complaining about was the cron job I'd setup months before. I can be a lil shit sometimes. :/ :)

Cool, where do we buy them?

They are on Amazon. Search for Cricket sound prank

sweet, thanks!

This would have zero effect on an Afro American and their inability to change out a single 9 volt battery

I dropped a half dozen of those around the hospital I used to work at. A couple of coworkers know about it and they are still going. If anyone finds one, they now move it to a new spot so it is a building wide game.

@ftmyersguy64 In case you wonder what the box looks like

I built the noisey cricket about 15 years ago I don't remember which one, but i soon got tired of listening to it 😅

get 3 - hide 2 of them in the biggest, most cluttered room (lounge / kitchen / garage / attic), close enough so that it sounds like it might come from a general location, but far enough that if they're checking that area, the second chirp makes them turn and check another area. then, hide the other one in the hallway or adjacent room close by, high in a cupboard or in a chair cushion. change the delay of all 3 to random 7, 15, 37 and 129 minutes. this will give the illusion that the cricket is moving around, or that they're maybe checking the wrong room and make it impossible to notice a distinct pattern. bonus: occasionally move one or more of the devices to different locations in the same or another room every couple of days / weeks / months

Thats messed up.😂😂

Psychological warfare on a whole different level.

The Crickanader 2000

Friend of mine had a little digital alarm clock one of her kids hid underneath a couch...and it bothered her for years until we found it when she moved out. I was quite impressed about the battery life and this was in the 90s. It drove her nuts and her kids pretended not to know anything about it. Still not sure which one of the little buttheads did it. No one owned up to it.

Think Geek used to sell these as the Annoy-o-Tron.

They used to sell these at ThinkGeek. Called them the “Annoyatron”. So fun lol

Sold! Where can I get one?

I used an early version of this back in the 90s. It was a beep rather than a cricket, but otherwise worked the same. Put it in my boss' office and it drove him mad within half a day.

Or, you could just deploy an actual cricket.

Ahhh, the lovely Annoy-A-Tron... Newer models can play more than one sound.

Funny story. I terrorized my office with one of these “Annoy PCB” (on Amazon) for months. Eventually because I told too many people it was found out. I brought the device home and it wound up in a change bowl. Despite being switched off, after enough change shuffle, a coin closed the circuit again. It terrorized myself and my wife for months before I found it again. Thought it was this many kitchen appliances.

It should be the low battery chirp instead🤣

Where to buy it and how much? 😆

good old annoyotron i put one inside someone's desk at work once and they went apeshit after a month or so

This reminds me of something...

Ingenious!

I want one that does the smoke detector beep.

My older brother stayed w/my teen last year when Mrs. MIke & I went overseas. He left one of those behind the books in the book case. I happened to be standing next to it when it went off. I mailed it to a friend to put in his house for me.

What is PURE EVIL is posting baby Crickets 🦗 through someone’s letterbox 🥺😆😆

OMFG!!!!!!! 💯👏👏👏👏

I bought some of these from Amazon and tested - makes a noise the first time it’s switched on, never again unless switched on/off. Quite disappointing. I solemnly swear I’m up to no good.

the best is hide two of them in different parts of the house. "is it in this room..? no i just heard it coming from down the hall!"

I hear the Ben Shapiro one is way worse

Pure torture!😜

careful. bugging might be illegal in some states.

Annoyatron! I have used this several times at work. I’ve had people tear their offices apart. The phantom key stroker was great too but too risky to use that now.

Where do we buy them then?🤣
