The basketballs are also brand new and have no give. The players don’t even practice with those basketballs until a day or two before the game. This is something the NCAA should look to change as it’s an easy fix.

Good officials fix this is pregame. It’s pretty standard practice for officials to dribble a game ball during pregame routines to test it out and make sure this thing doesn’t happen.

The basketballs hitting the rims sound like the old school March Madness basketballs from Pizza Hut that were way too inflated.
