Same 🫤

Literally was talking about this yesterday

Or...tinnitus. It's awful when it's dead silent :(

Our mom bought all 4 of us noise boxes back in the 70’s & 80’s. Taught us to sleep with them. That away when we napped she could clean. Said it’s the worst thing to be quite to not wake the baby. I could sleep as a child with her vacuuming beside me. As an adult I have to have noise.

I’m also the opposite. I embrace and surrender to what I call the Black. I can’t see visuals in my mind so when I close my eyes all I see is blackness. When I go to sleep I let it surround me and consume me completely. It’s not scary or threatening at all.

Try a purring cat on your legs.. 🐱 *poof* You are sleeping.

“People that grew up with chaos, loneliness, or little emotional support…” Makes sense, I sleep with a fan on and haven’t had a single moment in my life that hasn’t been filled with chaos

I need a fan on because I'm hot blooded and sweat in -50° weather. Also That's Fahrenheit NOT shithead celsius. Get it right, make it heit!

Just me and my tinnitus

same, my add brain goes wild at night.

Our ancestors didn’t sleep in peace. Always a fire going, people awake talking around it. Our nervous system didn’t develop sleeping in quiet

Me too🥺🥺

See im a little different, I find solace in silence. I have to take "breaks" from people at least once a day.

I never think yay me!

I’m actually opposite. I hate a lot of noise while I’m sleep. Being the only child has its pros and cons

I literally can’t sleep without my fan on I HATE complete silence in my room The silence is so noticeably DEAFENING

Relatable.

Interesting. I grew up in chaos and need silence to sleep. I hate background noise, like a lot, lot.

I don’t think it’s that deep, man… I do it to drown out the city noise that leaks through my window facing the street.

In silence my ears ring. That ring is a constant frequency that is around me all the time but is drowned out by background noise, until it's quiet. When I slept beside a partner, I was focused on the sound of her breathing, and her heartbeat. Now it's ASMR vids...

Or you just live in a busy ass house and need to drown out the noise. 🤣

Amen brother

Exactly how it feels when a quick Friday deploy goes sideways.

Maybe that’s why I have to have a fan on when it’s 17 degrees out 🤷🏻

Peace with christ Jesus.

Mostly to keep the earworms out of my head.

it was very interesting to realize that thunderstorms calm me down

I need some kind of noise simply because of the light ringing in my ears. Fan on so i don’t hear that. Lol. Otherwise I like silence.

So it’s no a bad habit. Ope o

Why is it easier to be intensely mad or sad, than to be intensely happy?

I didn't used to be like this until my parents were becoming in worse health and I wasn't allowed to see them during covid. ever since then i've had to have a t v or something on.I'm really trying to break myself of it.

Or they have tinnitus like me. Have to have a fan running to drown out the buzzing in my ears.

Me too

Same

that and It drowns out the ringing in my ears.
