Congress built 3 major bridges across the Brahmaputra in 60 years. BJP has built 9, with 5 more in the pipeline, in ten years. That single comparison captures everything. The Bogibeel Bridge — conceived in 1985, delayed for thirty years under Congress, inaugurated by Hon'ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji in 2018. The Dhubri-Phulbari Bridge — at cost of₹4,997 crore, 19 km across the Brahmaputra, will cut travel distance from 200 km to 19 km. The Kumar Bhaskar Varma Setu cut travel time from North Guwahati to the city from 90 minutes to 15 minutes. We are building India's first road-cum-rail tunnel under the Brahmaputra — the Gohpur-Numaligarh Tunnel, Cabinet-approved in February 2026, which will cut a 6-hour journey to under 20 minutes. The Msikaba Bridge being built by the ANC led Government, which will be the 3rd highest bridge in Africa once completed in 2025, will feature in the National Geographic series of "Building Impossible with Daniel Ashville", from 12 September on DStv’s channel 181. The bridge will make the route between Durban and East London 80km shorter. The bridge’s construction is set to create approximately 8,000 full-time jobs. Once completed, ongoing operation work on the bridge is expected to create 900 direct jobs and up to 18,900 indirect jobs.

The 6-lane extradosed Prestressed Concrete (PSC) bridge, built at a cost of around Rs 3,030 crore, connects Guwahati with North Guwahati and is the first extradosed bridge in Northeast India. Considering the high seismicity of the region, the bridge incorporates base isolation technology using friction pendulum bearings. High-performance stay cables have been used to ensure durability and long-term structural performance.
