🚨 This is my biggest problem with Tesla Full Self-Driving While it’s not life-threatening, it’s certainly annoying (and gets me some odd looks)

The green route would be the correct way to exit The red is the way it chooses to go

Navigation is Tesla’s biggest weakness for FSD. It needs the ability to remember preferred routes, perhaps even allowing us to drive and save a route. There are key routes I drive that I always disengage from at the same point due to nav not getting the first or last couple miles right.

Leaving a Supercharger near me, it picks some of the most illogical and mind-numbing routes. That's truly when I first noticed it.

I can see how this would be annoying on a drive you do everyday but this is a pretty amazing biggest problem to have.

It wants you to make friends 😅

@TeslaTomMY1 Not in my neighborhood!!! That's too close to home!!! 🤣

I’m trying to bring more content with FSD to our socials and I’ll be sure to post my unfiltered thoughts on things here with my personal account This routing issue is not a one-off as I deal with it in other locations. However this is the most extreme version of it

I would love to be able to put a pin for my parking space in my driveway rather than having FSD stop in the road in front of my house.

You can use a pin for this but I've found it is not a surefire way to get into the correct spot.

can confirm that the navigation is not the best right now… It tried to drop me off in my backyard instead of the front entrance my backyard is fenced facing a highway so that was just silly because it expected me to get out and hop my fence to get inside my house from the backyard 🤣

I kind of don’t like the route FSD takes out of my neighborhood either. I usually drive out of the neighborhood all the way and then turn it on. Would be nice if the car would remember the routes we leave or come home manually so it knows to route itself accordingly on FSD.

Sometimes, my FSD route selection can also be better. I also have the occasional issue of the car taking the wrong offramp from the freeway (not the one the route guidance says it's going to pick) and selecting the wrong lane to make a left turn.

Man what a waste of gas 🤣🤣

FSD does odd and definitely annoying navigation things. I’m still on V13 but there’s been times where it won’t get over far enough for an upcoming exit in time and then will miss the exit if I don’t take over.

It's not FSD's fault. It's the map data. Hopefully it gets corrected on the next big map update.

You have to stop letting it go so deep into a fault and make it do the thing the way you want. I stress test my robot daily but don’t inconvenience people when I know I’m trying something challenging.

Another thing, I use FSD 99% of the time. That messes up my safety score and costs me on Tesla Insurance, since interventions typically involve hard braking. I use the weird navigation locations to drive myself and reduce the hard braking percentage

odd. It would be nice to be able to tag that area as a no go zone.

Tesla‘s full self driving is relatively new. I use Google maps and Waze and it takes me around in circles and longer routes all the time !! etc.. Tesla will get EVEN BETTER with time

Everyone has problems with FSD??? .:.:. some small .:.:. some bigger??? @Teslarati complains about quirks .:.:. while 🇧🇦 Bosnia still dreams of even charging ⚡ no FSD .:.:. no Supercharger .:.:. no plug 😅 our only “self-driving” mode is downhill — to save battery 🔋😂 @elonmusk @Tesla @teslaeurope @TeslaCharging #Tesla #FSD #Supercharger #Bosnia #Sarajevo #HeartOfEurope #CleanEnergy #TeslaCommunity

Yes - This is a frustration. I Just get the car to the main road to avoid bad routing, or take over close to the destination for the same reason.

That would bug me too.. My car used to signal and turn into my driveway and abruptly stop. After the last map update it just drives past my driveway from the north and when I come from the south it starts looking for my driveway 100' from where it is.. otherwise I have almost no issues with FSD once on the road..

This!! I have been yelling into the void forever about the lousy navigation and maps. It is the limiting factor for FSD.

That is why I don't use or worry about "disengagements", I prefer did it do the right thing to judge FSD. Most of the time it really doesn't in my opinion, like not staying in the right lane for the exit but still tries to get pass a slow car on the left then forces it's way back

Have had many issues with navigation, as a matter of fact just this morning it picked some stupid route to the office that made zero sense. We should at least be able to modify the route if the route chosen makes no logical sense.

My FSD always wants to pull in my neighbor’s driveway instead of mine. I wish I could figure out how to get it fixed.

Here’s a radical idea… just drive it yourself. Computers are stupid

Thank you for bringing this to light so the Tesla AI team can improve the service. @Tesla_AI

Oh it has a lot of weird routing issues like that. I could give you dozens of examples.

That....

I have a real problem with self driving: I don't know where to put my hands.

Tesla should have an external light showing it's in autonomous mode.. so others know you are just along for the ride, not the one cutting them off and the smile is not smug, it means it's great not having to drive.

Tesla needs to add the ability to customize a route. It would be amazing. 👍

Have the same problem. I live on a dead end street that ends on a boat ramp into the canal. So I stop Tessie from going that way when backing out of the garage.

That's why it's called Supervised.
My v12.potato FSD will take me 1.5 miles out of the way to get home after exiting freeway instead of just taking access road for a bit more and turning left under freeway at cross street. Drives me insane.

This is a big bear of mine also. The navigation coming from my home to work or the other way round, it always wants to go the long way. I have to set an intermediary destination, then change it to the actual destination to get it to go the way it should.

ALL reasonable criticism is essential, but anything not safety related rightly takes the back seat, so to speak
