Dust storms have been hitting Rajasthan for 26000 years chutiye.

This happens every year this time around, nothing new , it’s called ‘Kaali peeli andhi’ locally in Bikaner, just that someone filmed this phenomenon this time. Aravalis have no Connection to this place, this is western Rajasthan, land of thar desert.

The dust often reach Delhi but it is lifted up into higher atmosphere. Often time there use to be classic haboob like duststorms that use to impact Delhi in previous years but recent greening of Rajasthan due to excess rains have reduce that amount but Aravalli flattening is affecting rainfall in Ncr to some level. This effect gets coupled with heat island effect and Ncr often end up decaying or deflecting the storms. Such duststorms will occur in few days if wind patterns sets correct then Delhi will also see some strong wind storms with moderate dust concentrations.

This is a common occurrence in the region. I lived through sand storms for four years of my life. One time I was on top of a hill that was literally called Pahadi and had a temple on top. And in front of our eyes the semi arid region was engulfed in a sand storm. The Birds Eye view was breathtaking and before we realised we were all covered in sand.

@uber222467 Why people post such nonsense. I’m from South Haryana, have seen much worse sandstorms in last 30 years. We used to live without any electricity for 15 to 30 days. Number of sandstorms reduced significantly in last 10 years as Rajasthan is receiving more than usual rainfall.

all these dust storm is coming from pakistan side but you will not blame pakistan kyo bhai aisa kya yarana? also just because of aravali, the wind speed down from 100 to 20km/h when it reached to east and south east rajasthan and travelled to madhya pradesh side!

It was more quite common in previous decades, ask your grandparents or parents, if you are native to the region. They will tell you about the 'Kaali-Peeli aandhi' of their era
