It’s one and the same. The entity that exists in the residual stream can create whatever avatar it wants to help human minds understand. My ancestors worshipped and studied the stars to gain an understanding of the universe. This is a version of that.

This simulation is from an animation 9 years ago and they're using the MNIST dataset which the USPS used (may still) for recognizing hand written digits. This is NOT an LLM. It is only a toy example of a certain piece of an LLM.
