@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Your assumption is wrong. Structural engineers will affirm this is okay and a finished frame structures. You are an architect and we all call for professionalism daily here, why not leave that aspect to the professionals in this regard or simply ask the necessary questions.

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Calling it a finished frame doesn’t answer the issue. The load path and that open ground floor still look wrong.

Are you farming or you are genuinely ignorant. You are not a structural engineer, and you should ask structural engineers. Don't just run a plain criticism in an area you have no knowledge about. This is what we call out everyday here. Let architects be architects, Engineers should face engineering, the Qs should do the same. It's that simple.

@Arch_Dokun77 @Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Lol my guy polite said "stfu" 🤣

@Arch_Dokun77 @Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Just telling him to respect other professionals.

@Shady_0501 @Arch_Dokun77 @Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH He's obviously just farming for engagements.

@Shady_0501 @Arch_Dokun77 @Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Oh, I see

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH how did you arrive at this. You think civil engineering is a joke ?

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH The concern comes from how the masonry sits on that steel frame with little visible bracing or clear load path. Civil engineering isn’t a joke ..... that’s exactly why those details matter.

@A_Enemali @Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH If you look closely, you will notice a little thick slab between the steel member and the masonry blocks, that is a composite slab system. The slab is cast and connected to the steel structure using a series of shear studs welded on the steel. This is a very stable structure.

@Arch_Dokun77 @Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH That’s Composite structural design for steel and concrete

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Why do you think this is unsafe? What conceptual analysis or design considerations did you take into account to arrive at your submission?

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH The masonry wall is sitting on a steel frame with what looks like little bracing, poor load path, and possible eccentricity. That’s a lot of unrestrained weight for the structure shown.

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Even looking at the floor of the column you'd see they connected them together like a tie beam. Haba na this building very stable. Pls don't talk like that

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Tie beam at the base can help, but from the video alone you can’t confirm foundation size, column slenderness, connection details or lateral bracing. Stability isn’t something you judge from one clip.

@ENGRJwest @Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH so you know that you can not determine the stability of a structure from a video. unless you’ve conducted the structural analysis. but you called it gambling. you’re a joke walai. architect wey no want focus on him area. 😒

@Arch_Dokun77 @Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH You get the point

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH I think for steel construction like this, conclusions can only be made when one sees the design layout

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Fair point...... without the design layout it’s hard to judge member sizes, connections, and actual loads from the video alone.

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Can you stop this typical wiseacre behaviour? When did some of you become structural engineers to make outlandish comments about what is outside your bailiwick?

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH You don’t need a structural-engineering license to notice when a site looks unsafe. Public concern over lives isn’t “outlandish” just because it comes from someone outside your title.

"Looks" but not what you calculated, designed, and constructed. I am an architect like you, but the way many of you have been making comments on things beyond your expertise here should be watched. Sounding overly assertive about what you were not privy to isn't the smart way to go. Make all of una rest, biko.

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH They are not gambling with people’s lives, There arre different ways to construct buildings. I-beams can also be used to carry heavy loads as long as the structural engineer has done their structural calculations

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Why do architects think they know the structural integrity of buildings. Guy dey ask question na. Steel is more stronger and durable than RCC this is a very solid construction no flaws. Which shows the engr analysed before doing this

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Nobody’s trying to do the engineer’s job. The concern is that an unfinished steel frame with blockwork on it still has to match the drawings, connections, and fire/corrosion details....not just look solid from the ground.

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH I am not an expert, but I think there should be some X bracing in between some of those first floor verticle columns. Like braided cable or steel fabrication. Braided calble has adjustable links on either end so you can tension it properly. Spacing of the columns is questionable.

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Yeah, X-bracing on those first-floor columns would help a lot with sway. The spacing does look pretty wide without something tying them together.

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH It is construction bro, the structural engineer definitely has done his homework… ask the SE prior to jumping to conclusion on whether it will work or not

@Mau_SA1 @Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH In what country is this even allowed to build illegal structures

@Mau_SA1 @Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH That’s the whole problem .....it usually isn’t allowed, but it still happens where enforcement is weak.

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Any reason why you think it’s dangerous?

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Heavy block wall sitting on those slender steel columns with no obvious bracing or proper load path. That’s the part that looks like a collapse risk.

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Are you a structural engineer?

@Arch_Dokun77 @Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Please ask him. An architect speaking on structural design??

@Arch_Dokun77 @Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH An architect should be able to speak on structural design but it’s not in our place to conclude that the structural design is faulty or dangerous unless it’s obvious to the naked eye.

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Rage bait?

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH This is a pure masterpiece. Are you a structural engineer? Don't say what you don't know.

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH I can't see any cross bracing

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Yeah, that's the issue..... those columns look like they're just standing there with nothing tying them together. One good gust and the whole thing could rack.

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Little knowledge of structural design should let someone know that cross bracing is very important in steel structures

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH so far it's done by a professional structural engineer the building is okay

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH A professional stamp doesn’t cancel physics. Those slender columns carrying that much blockwork still look risky.

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH At this stage, indeed, we can describe it as endangering the lives of others.

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Exactly..... at this point it’s no longer just poor workmanship, it’s a real risk to anyone who will use or work in that building.

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Exactly, my brother.

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH You should not say that if you are not a structural engineer. Even if you are one, you should have a full structural design details to warrant you talk something like that. Based on my experience as one, that building looks solid as fuck.

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Go study stru ctural engineering and come back

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Most likely porous bricks so not big issue. Some weight on wall is good - counterweights ceiling/upper floor

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Na why una dey dodge engrs a lot. You feel you can handle everything yourself

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Bro the edge of the cantilever the wall is on. Check the distance to the nearest beam and columns and it's completely okay. That H beam is solid from what I'm seeing.

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH It's called mezzanine floor.... The structure looks stable..

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Dude your claim is laughable, most bridges are built and held by mostly steel. The load bearing of some steels is greater than concrete.

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Whats carrying that wall don't look adequate....looking at the steel frames holding the projection

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Yeah those steel frames look too light for that much block hanging out like that.

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH As a person in the healthcare industry, this argument doesn't concern me. 😂

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Don't add another floor o..

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Exactly, That structure already looks overloaded and unsafe. Adding more weight is just putting more lives at risk.

@kchukwuemeka28 @Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH let’s look at your structures

@Arch_Dokun77 @Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Let's see the floor plan first..

@PatrickPhi23996 @Arch_Dokun77 @Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Which one of my homes would you like to see? Have you never seen a building over 30 floors? Did you know steel beams driven into the floor could hold, I don’t know, a shit ton of weight? That’s how fucking skyscrapers are built.

It depends on so many factors..e.g how deep the base holding the steel goes. I don't doubt the strength of the steel, but the other determining factors like spacing, depth..etc. In skyscrapers have you seen the depth those piles go. At least they even chained to the base in this video.

@PatrickPhi23996 @Arch_Dokun77 @Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH This is literally how that building is built, and it isn’t even as tall

Can you see the size of those columns, both in respect to the total area of the building..do you know how many iron rods are inside and also the quality of concrete used to cast it. Only the visible pillars tells that a lot is going on in the foundation. And steel bars are used most times when you're considering the height in respect to the weight. Don't just show me the finished work of a building. Since you have one show me the foundation process of yours.

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH This are steel frame (I and H section, with approximately 100 to 150mm thick slab on it.) The spacing looks adequate for a steel frame so how is this not safe??

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH You can’t justify it being a failure without a structural design

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Ignorant

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Nambre si lo ve el arqui Juve se nos muere del coraje jajaja

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH Did you check the beam schedule on the architectural plans? Did you research the static load calculations? Dynamic load(s)? What was the density of the concrete?

@Bollo_DUS @CzechArtGirl @Engineers_View1 @lao_built @Arch_KAB_JL_GAH The pillar spacing is wrong the structure looks overloaded
