This is an old one. He’s a janitor at a school in Georgia and she’s the principal. She was forced to resign though.

Some folks are not meant to be bosses. Thats just simple. Yes I understand there are rules but still in this case, it should be acceptable. Was his work hours complete? Yes.

How would she react if he stayed until 3 and that made him have 15 minutes of unauthorized overtime?

The employee should start looking for a new job. This may be blessing in disguise.

That Karen haircut says it all. I literally just left a job because of bad management and when I say bad, it was far worse than this. So yeah, don't treat anyone like that, even if it is your employees.

He is the sort of employee I would love to have. Saw what needed to be done and jumped in to do it.

If you leave your post early - regardless of the reason or if you're allowed to or not - you should inform your manager. It's plain common sense.
