My heart sank when I dropped it 😓 the PSA 10 Pikachu Illustrator aka the rarest and most valuable Pokemon card in the world is officially up for auction. Bidding is now open on Goldin Auctions In 1998, only 39 copies of this card — designed by Atsuko Nishida, the original creator of Pikachu — were awarded to winners of a Pokémon illustration contest. 24 years later, I wore it out to my Wrestlemania debut after it set a Guinness World Record for the most expensive Pokémon card ever sold — the ONLY perfect PSA 10 Pikachu Illustrator in the world. One of one. The Mona Lisa of collectibles. The most famous card in human history. I’m selling it with the $75k custom Pokémon chain, and I’ll hand-deliver it to the buyer. Paul received a $2.5M check for the agreement and will also be getting a royalty fee for each item sold in the $25M auction. THERE IS ONLY ONE REASON YOU SHOULD EVER CONSIDER BUYING A PSA 9 CARD 😳 The psa population report for specifically the 9 grade is essentially MEANINGLESS. The majority of PSA 9 certifications are cracked and submitted for regrading. The re-grade comes back likely a 9, sometimes a 10. With "PSA DOCTORS" becoming so popular, it is very enticing to purchase and crack a 9. Even a PSA 10 graded population is an iffy metric given those going for a Beckett Black Label. There's a reason why the Beckett Black Label 10 holds such a significant premium. I will only purchase PSA and Beckett 10s. Never less.
