No this is not London, New York or Paris. This is Durban's Botanical Gardens. Trail of Lights Festival. After the Mxolisi Kaunda disaster last year Durban so far is having a bumper tourist season. Excellent work by the Mayor Cyril Xaba, but two men behind the scenes deserve the biggest credit, Dr Mike Sutcliffe and Dr Cassius Lubisi who are part of the section 154 team to turn around eThekwini Municipality and it is clearly working although major sabotage efforts are continuously taking place by the crooks in the municipality some even alleged the City Manager Musa Mbhele and extremely close ally of Zandile Gumede is part of the sabotage. But Mike Sutcliffe and Dr Cassius Lubisi are standing strong.

They termed the march, “mother of all marches” The application to the municipality was for ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND MARCHERS. They call Durban their heartland. WATCH: EThekwini municipality Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda has been recorded arrogantly telling the striking SAMWU employees that he will not meet and negotiate with them any longer. In the leaked recording, Kaunda lost his cool, telling the striking employees that it is wrong for them to switch off water and power services yet they are " regarded as a progressive union." . The meeting took place today in Durban. Moreover, Kaunda told the union leaders that switching off water and electricity "is treason." He told the union to call a press conference and inform the public that they have called off the strike. "I am not requesting you, I am telling you there is no meeting... The once notorious WARWICK AVENUE has undergone a major clean up. Fines are being issued for littering. By laws are being implemented. Most importantly don't be FOOLED, all this is being done by the brilliant and dedicated workers of ETHEKWINI. Nothing is done by MK Party. It's a moment for collective resolve to ensure justice for those who lost their lives and for their grieving families by bringing the perpetrators to justice. Among the list of victims were: Shri Manjunath from Chikmagalur. Shri Bharat Bhushan from Bengaluru. I spoke to both the wives of the deceased, Pallavi and Sujata, this morning. They are at present safe, but they are worried about the future. I spoke to the KPCC, and the Cabinet has deputed Labour Minister Santosh Lad. He said that he met two members of the family and their children. He also met nearly 200 tourists from Karnataka there in various hotels and arranged flights to return to Bangalore. I have also requested J&K CM Umar Abdullah to make arrangements for those who are not in touch with their respective states. Yesterday night, I spoke to our Home Minister; he promised me that he will take care of all those people. I offer my deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and their loved ones in the tragic incident. The summer season has started, and tourists have started visiting the region. Tourism is also the biggest source of income for Jammu and Kashmir. They are dependent on that income. But due to this attack, Shri Omar Abdullah has told me that this year the economy has collapsed. The Government of India is ruling there, as it's a Union Territory, still not declared as a state. So the response would be from the Government of India. In this moment, we are all one with the government. Together we have to fight. Miners, teachers, farmers, and indigenous groups have all come together to bring the country to a standstill until their demands are met. The workers are demanding better wages, economic stability, an end to the privatization of publicly owned companies, and the resignation of their sellout president. A Bolivian miner told the media: “Bolivia is going through a critical moment with this traitorous government that is selling off our natural resources to transnational corporations, and we as the proletarian vanguard won’t allow this government to sell off and indebt our country.”

Energy is growth. But our energy costs are some of the highest in the developed world. We have to cut the cost of power and only the Conservatives have a plan to do so. The British people are being squeezed, and our industries are being held back. This spineless Labour Government refuses to take the tough decisions needed to grow our economy. The Conservatives will scrap the carbon tax, paid for by getting Britain drilling. We will back British industry, level the playing field with foreign imports, and bring jobs and investment back to the UK. This will bring more jobs and growth to the economy, and cut costs for business. We believe in enterprise, in competitiveness, and in putting our national interest first. Only the Conservatives have a plan to get Britain working again: cut spending, cut tax and back business.
