Yea man by far one of my favorite FF games ever. We always geek out about it when I mention it every now and then. Going to Walmart at midnight with my brother. To pick the game up and the strategy guide. An that opening sequence changed my life!

@TheRealEnate That’s VIII greatest sin having to follow VII. Similar with Chrono Cross, not a bad game but a sequel to Chrono Trigger it is not. VIII has its flaws but it’s a fantastic game and I love the junction system as busted as it is.

Yea that's the biggest issue a lot people mention when FF8 comes up. So that's completely fair. I love that world, characters and story it's so much fun to play in.

Agreed, it's a big reason why it's so special to me. We snuck out of the house in a school night to pick it up. An this scene blew my mind so much. That I couldn't sleep for like two days 🤣 Every waking moment I was thinking about the game. The junction system didn't bother me either.

That scene is honestly is amazing it is pretty bad I am normally LV 45 by that point. 😂

FF8 is hands down the worst game in the series. Enemies that level up with you will always break the entire point of RPG mechanics.

Man, landing in Dollet was such brain melting moment for my young self back then, shit was so cool from the landing to extraction.

Agreed that entire sequence of events had me begging to get out of school. I just wanted to do nothing but play FF8 by the time I hit this sequence.

I think it’s evil to compare any final fantasy game made by square Soft vs any JRPG game ever and I love Tales of abyss with all my hearts but if they gave me 1 more Square Soft FINAL FANTASY I would throw Tales of the abyss as a sacrifice I am willing to make.

I think the dollet FMV might have been the first video I downloaded. It was a QuickTime video, probably about 16mb or so and took forever, but I must have watched it a good 40 or so times before I got a hold of the demo.

I love FFVIII but it has some problems. The draw mechanic and the tediousness behind it, and that levelling up makes your enemies stronger, it encourages you to run from most battles.

Yea things escalated so fast. That military academy life wasn't for the weak. The Garden was such an amazing place to live and explore.
