I’ve been watching baseball for 20 years and I’ve never seen this done lol

Didn’t lead to a run but cost Cease another 7 pitches

Queue the “every player older than 12 would’ve done this 🤓🤓🤓” comments about something I’ve seen happen like twice ever at any level

Good baserunning but also worse defense.

Surprised we don't see this more often, but yeah, first time I think I've seen it done in a game.

Keith Hernandez would be ripping the first baseman lol. But definitely great move love to see this

Mickey Mantle did this in the top of the 9th in Game 7 1960 WS to allow tying run to score. That play is overshadowed by what happened in the bottom of the 9th

Ive been watching baseball for only a couple years I always wondered why players dont do this more often

This is insane. So sick to be able to process that so quickly

High IQ play. Francisco Lindor did this years back as well.

Sadly this is slightly above average IQ base running to non casuals

It’s a dumb rule. You shouldn’t be able to go back to first if a ball is put into play like that.

Nah Cronenworth just trolled

Mickey Mantle in Game 7 of the 1960 WS would like a word.

3-6-3 puts this to bed

Always go to two first, don’t take the force off

If only i got HRR for that lmfao

Couldn't include the whole replay could you

Guys try this often when the situation occurs. Typically.the first baseman is smart enough to check the runner first and its an easy double play lol.

He still isn’t stealing bases. Don’t care

lindor did this last year

Didn’t know this was even allowed

Brilliant. Love to see high baseball IQ.

More of a brain dead play by Cronenworth

Wilson Contreras did it earlier in the year I think. It's spreading a little.

More like brain fart on the first baseman

That’s actually insane to wait and have the presence of mind to run back 🤯

Such a quick pickup on such a unique occurrence

I thought Miami was going to throw the ball and both of them would be safe

i mean this is just insane

I really had to have an argument before with some absolute dumbasses about why you always throw to second first on a 3-6-3 and second base should be in a position to cover first base if needed.

@Yankees take note
“Smart baserunning” is usually a function of dumb defense.
