Caveat: AGPL-3 = the most viral license. Fine for some, hostile to others.

this product needs a community effort. agpl-3 ensures hosted modifications remain open. improvements to hosted PartMode should remain open source.

Apache, BSD, MIT, public domain, etc. all support community effort -- both in theory and in reality as proven by decades of experience. (Of course everyone is free to choose to make code available on whatever license they like, subject to any included code. And others are free to warn people about the consequences.)

Browser-based B-rep is tough. How does it handle complex assemblies without lagging? SolidWorks runs locally for a reason.
