#WATCH | Malviya Nagar fire | Wasim Raja, a local from Hauz Rani village who rescued many people in an attempt to save lives, says, "The moment the short circuit happened, we reached here. We were the first ones to reach here. There is a mattress shop here which was damaged. We took the mattresses from there and laid them on the road to help the foreigners who were jumping out of the building. Soon after, the teams of Delhi Fire Service and Delhi Police arrived here. We pulled out several foreign nationals in unconscious condition from inside the building. The villagers, along with firemen and police, rescued many people. We have suffered injuries in our feet due to glass."

Doctors from various cities, foreign medical graduates, were preparing for the exam, but they were trapped and died... Seven people have died. Many others have been injured and are undergoing treatment. We demanded from the Chief Minister that all these people be given adequate compensation... There has been a lot of positive talk on this matter. The Chief Minister has said that she will provide compensation to both those who died and those who were injured..."
