This boy’s father is an avid outdoorsman. He’s teaching his son to do the same by letting him camp alone in the Alaskan wilderness by their home. He only packs the bare necessities and is supposed to forage for what else he needs, hunting and fishing for food and learning to start a fire even in the worst situations. In this moment the shavings he’s using to start a fire are too wet and covered in moss, he’s trying hard to start a fire but nothing is working so he calls his dad for help. Since his dad is testing his skills for survival should he have intervened like this, wouldn’t it have been better to let him figure it out himself?

This is a major WTF moment. The media is reporting that in Ocean Beach, San Diego, a father "heroically" fought off a man trying to kidnap his little boy, 8. The reporter says it happened as the family ate dinner outside their new deli on Newport Avenue. Some random guy grabbed the boy and tried to drag him away... when the father and Good Samaritans intervened. We've watched this repeatedly - and it's tough to argue the dad acted "heroically". Heck - he literally said he felt bad for the attacker and wasn't going to press charges. Quite frankly, if someone tried to take our kid like this... the cops would have been the least of the criminal's problems. Something doesn't add up here. #thinblueline #lawenforcement
