The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP has declared that no member of the party with presidential ambitions will ever become president unless Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia becomes president first. He cited former US Presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama, noting that although Biden was, in his view, more qualified for the presidency, he allowed Obama to become president first.

Joe Biden is the best of this party and the best of this country. He is a lifetime public servant who has always put his country first. He always put his country first. He always does the right thing, which in this case is whatever it takes to make sure Donald Trump is not the President. Biden is showing everyone exactly why we trusted him to lead our party and our country.

President Donald Trump's decision to launch the war with Iran follows a "set of norms" that has developed throughout American history, says Pulitzer Prize-winning presidential historian Jon Meacham. "What President Trump's doing in Iran, interestingly, is drawing on a set of norms that aren't quite explicitly spelled out, but have developed as part of our custom that presidents can exert force in this way," he told PBS News' Amna Nawaz. He said the nation’s founders were “intimately familiar with the history of what was the Old World,” which had been shaped by autocracies and wars. “The point of, in many ways, the late 18th century of that political revolution that the American experiment really embodies was, let's take the affairs of nations away from the whims of a single person, and let's at least try to entrust them to the clash of interests of the many,” Meacham explained. Since that time, he said, the power of the executive branch has "steadily” grown throughout U.S. history. "The only thing that's really important in determining the broad direction of the United States of America at this hour is what goes on in Donald Trump's head," Meacham said. Meacham, a bestselling author, spoke to @IAmAmnaNawaz for PBS News' podcast, "Settle In." He discussed former President Joe Biden's legacy, the one piece of historical text he thinks we all should read and how he still finds hope as America marks its 250th birthday. Carl Bernstein is widely regarded as one of the greatest journalists who has ever lived. He's also a partisan hack and a complete fraud. When Trump was getting treatment for Covid in 2020, Bernstein was all over TV demanding to know the truth about Trump's health. He actually called it one of the greatest coverups in American history. He was spewing this nonsense because he was trying to influence an election. Shockingly, Bernstein wasn't as concerned about coverups and Presidential health during the Biden years. FACT: Both Donald Trump and Joe Biden have bad memories. FACT: Most people in their late 70s or early 80s have memories that are not on par with younger people. Donald Trump couldn't even remember when he was married to one of his wives. He doesn't even remember ever buying something for himself, or if he ever said he had a good memory. Does this mean he's senile? No. It means he has a bad memory or is lying under oath. Does the fact that Joe Biden has a bad memory mean he is senile? Based on the polling data, I categorize Biden's statement that he could have beaten Trump as "flat out bonkers." Biden was well behind Trump when he dropped out. Biden never led in all of 2024. And no incumbent president who was anywhere near as unpopular as Biden has ever won.
