This is probably the last time a Boeing 747 will ever operate a regularly scheduled passenger flight into ATL😢 by Rohan Ramalingam #koreanair #boeing #avgeek

Even though many airlines are gradually retiring the 747 from their fleets in favor of more fuel-efficient models it remains a symbol of the golden age of commercial aviation. For many, the 747 will never be replaced in terms of charm and presence.

I've seen a lot of transitions at ATL for my 35 years working there. From the noisy 727-200s, 737-200s, DC-9s/MD-88s to the smoky (fuel vapor) cold morning starts of the RB211s on the L10lls. Nobody thought 100,000+ pounds of thrust per engine, so 4 engines are going away.

Don’t know if it’s the same tail. But prior to an overseas trip a few weeks ago, captured this girl . . .Didn’t realize it was almost the end. An epic livery.

Sad because the 747 is my favorite #longlivethequeen #queenoftheskies

The best ride in the sky! 777s don’t even come close.

The 747-800 is such a gorgeous airplane. Nothing comes close to it.

Legends never die. The 747 will continue to rule the skies, carried by those who believe in its legacy. There will always be someone to keep it alive.

All those 747-8's still have a long life ahead for intercontinental flights. 👍🏻

Love Korean Air.

Let’s hope not .. the queen of the sky needs to be in the air
