On D-day, the allies vastly outnumbered the Germans defending the beaches on all of the beaches, in some instances, by 10-1. The good guys lost WWII, btw.

@DocEpcot Hard to believe Americans fought and died to save Europe from the Nazis, only to have the Europeans cede their countries and cultures to the third world two generations later.

With the battles in Europe, there is such a contrast between beautiful architecture and brutal combat. I think that makes the footage even more fascinating.
